JAKARTA (30 April 2011) – The Normalisation Committee has announced the names of the 19 candidates which will be vying for the post of president of the FA of Indonesia (PSSI) for the election which will be held on 20 May 2011.
The Normalisation Committee which also serves as a Vetting Committee, was represented by chairman Agum Gumelar alongside the other members of Joko Driyono, Satim Sofyan, Dityo Pramono, FX Hadi Rudyatmo, Sukawi Sutarip and Siti Nurzanah.
The election on 20 May 2011 will be for the PSSI Executive Committee for the session 2011-2015.
Total candidature received for the post of president of PSSI was 33 which also included the names of General George Toisutta and Arifin Panigoro, who were banned by FIFA alongside Nirwan Bakrie and incumbent Nurdn Halid.
Their names have since been dropped from the list.
For the post of vice president of PSSI, the total number of candidatures received was 29 with 17 getting the green light from the Normalisation Committee to stand for election.
For the positions of Executive Committee, a total of 78 applicants were received with 50 gaining the stamp of approval.
The decision for a new Executive Committee was made due to the directive from FIFA which stated that the current Exco ‘ is not credible.’
